Rita B: Bio

If singing has always been Rita’s true passion, then country music was her first love. Ever since she was a young child, she felt the urge to entertain and would sing to anyone who would listen. Sometimes, however, life just seems to have… well… a life of its own, and with three beautiful girls to raise, it was family life which first took centre stage. But despite the hiatus, Rita’s passion to perform continued to simmer in the background.
Finally, the time was right, an opportunity presented itself, and Rita took it with both hands! She now sings regularly, sharing her wide repertoire with diverse audiences in holiday parks and hotels, clubs and pubs, as well as sheltered housing and residential homes. Reveling in the variety and the chance at last to fulfill her true vocation, Rita has finally found her voice.

Care & Residential Homes anheltered Housing

Rita performs 'Remembering Patsy Cline & Tribute to Ladies of Country' and Rita's tribute cd is available to purchase either by sending Rita an email on her contact page or at her gigs. Rita sings songs from her favourite artists including Crazy, Sweet Dreams, I Cried All The Way To The Altar, A Church, A Courtroom and Then Goodbye, If You've Got Leavin' On Your Mind, I'm Sorry, If You Love Me (Really Love Me), Losing You and many many more.

As well as holiday parks, clubs and pubs, Rita also entertains at care/residential homes and sheltered housing and specialises in peoples birthday and wedding anniversary celebrations.

“When I visit retirement and care homes, I perform for people who have come from diverse backgrounds. But as soon as the performance begins, a bond is established between us, and the music unites us in a mutual understanding of what we have in common, and the differences disappear. It gives me pleasure to brighten the days of my guests, and it enriches my life too. I’m honoured to have shared important moments in people's lives such as birthdays and wedding anniversaries”.

Though Rita is happy to share a trip down memory lane back to the 40s with magnificent stars such as Vera Lynn/Doris Day her repertoire includes songs from the very best performers of today, including Amy McDonald, Duffy and Amy Winehouse. Whatever the event, Rita can keep guests of all ages entertained, with songs from Helen Shapiro, Dusty Springfield, The Mamas & The Papas, Carole King, The Shirelles, Bonnie Tyler, Lulu, Sheryl Crow, Girls Aloud, The Saturdays, The Killers, Kings of Leon, to name but a few.

Rita is continually updating her repertoire, and if you have a favourite song you would like her to perform for your event, she can usually accommodate you if you give her enough notice.

FINALLY, as well as being a published poet, Rita has now turned her writing skills into becoming a lyricist and in July 2010 finished writing/recording her very first country album, 'In My Own Wor(l)ds'. For more information, see 'NEWS' page. In the Summer of 2011, Rita will be releasing her second album, 'Country Music Running Through My Veins'.
