Poppy Appeal - May 22, 2011

John & I were asked to write a Poppy Song, for the Poppy Appeal and in particular to support the Kendal Poppy Appeal. 'Ghosts of War' is a country song and is now with my producer. I hope to be able to record 'Ghosts of War' in July. Any UK radio stations, please get in touch with me if you would like to help us raise awareness for the Poppy Appeal.

Album No. 2 "Country Music Running Through My Veins" - April 12, 2011

Rita and songwriting partner John Holt have now finished writing and composing their second album, "Country Music Running Through My Veins". Recording is already underway and Rita is hoping that the album will be released mid/late summer 2011. John produced one of their tracks and Ian Pearce, Iain Bradshaw, Nigel Hobbs and Lyn Sheppard have produced the remaining tracks again giving each song a unique sound from the other.  One of Rita's duo partners, Annie Humphrey will be appearing on the second album with her superb harmonies lifting Rita's songs to a higher dimension. As with Album 1, Ray Durrant again is acting as Rita's mentor to help her produce a superb follow-up album to her first.

Album 'In My Own Wor(l)ds' - July 13, 2010

Album: 'In My Own Wor(l)ds'

‘In My Own Wor(l)ds’ is Rita’s first original album, with the lyrics of all ten tracks written by Rita herself, and the music provided by songwriter/composer John Holt from North Wales. John, who already has four albums under his belt, is a master of the adult contemporary love songs. But as an enthusiastic line dancer, John is also no stranger to Country Music.

What makes this album special is that the talents of no fewer than four different producers have been brought to bear. The result is an interweaving of styles to produce a rich and varied tapestry of sound.

John Holt, produced ‘Vibrating Violins’, with its infectious cocktail of fiddle-driven Irish folk mixed with a dash of bluegrass.

Nigel Hobbs’ (Middle C Productions, Essex) gifted keyboard playing is evident on both ‘Wasted Tears’ and ‘Then Love Was Young’, while his skills behind the mixing desk are in evidence on the more upbeat ‘Got Caught When Your Guard Was Down’.

Introduced to Rita by singer/songwriting friend, Phil Mack, Glenn Rogers has enjoyed outstanding success in the country/linedance scene. His studio production company, DanzDevil.com remains the single largest producer of dedicated linedance music. Glenn produced ‘I Want My Song To Have A Good Hook’; ‘Sleepless Nights’; ‘Dance In My Fire’; ‘Rita’s Song’; and ‘Hometown Kentucky’. Listen out for Glenn’s unique vocals...

And finally, but not least, Iain Bradshaw produced Rita’s third country ballad, ‘Mirror Mirror Why?’ A friend of John's, Iain is the brilliant keyboard player in ‘Solid Gold Country Legends’ and keyboard player and MD for ‘Dolly the Show’. He also accompanied Charlie Landsborough on his tour in Australia. This song is very special indeed…
